My dad stayed at Citadel of Glenview for a littler over a month. The place was kept clean and all staff including the nurses and even the front desk were extremely helpful. They updated me right away with any changes to his medical care and setup medical planning calls with me. Vanessa answered all my questions and connected me to the right people that could help. She also helped look into other places he can transfer too when he was deemed too fit for a nursing home setting.

My dad has been staying at the Citadel of Glenview for about seven months now, and our family could not be more grateful for the care he has received.

Before coming here, he had been living fairly independently, but as his Alzheimer’s symptoms progressed and memory challenges became more frequent, we knew he needed a place where he could feel safe, engaged, and supported. We found exactly that at the Citadel of Glenview.

From our very first tour, Venessa, the Korean Program Director, has been nothing short of outstanding. She made the transition seamless and reassuring, going above and beyond to support our dad and our family. Venessa is professional, compassionate, and incredibly responsive—whether it’s addressing my dad’s daily questions or assisting with more complex matters like insurance and billing. Her dedication and communication have been invaluable. I truly believe she could lead similar programs anywhere in the world, not just for Korean seniors but for any resident in need of exceptional care.

The entire team of RNs and CNAs has also been wonderful. Every interaction we’ve had has been marked by kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism. Their genuine warmth and respect for the residents make a noticeable difference in daily life. Seven months in, my dad is not only adjusting well but is genuinely happy living here.

Thanks also go to Anne and Satu, the activity coordinators. Their creativity, patience, and sweetness shine through every program they organize. Thanks to them and the thoughtful activities provided, my dad has become more socially engaged—he now participates in daily programs, enjoys new friendships, and interacts with others more than we’ve seen in years.

We wholeheartedly recommend the Citadel of Glenview’s Korean Department to any family seeking compassionate, culturally sensitive, and professional care for their loved one.

Rehabilitation Center, but I felt that Olivia Jaida’s-Urban ADON truly deserves a separate and very special mention.

Olivia, who serves as the manager substitute, is an extraordinary person and an exceptional professional. From the very beginning of my mom’s stay, Olivia has gone above and beyond in every possible way. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and approachable—she’s also a fantastic manager who oversees every aspect of the center with care and attention.

She takes great care of her team and ensures that all residents are treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. Even in high-pressure or stressful situations, Olivia greets everyone with a big, genuine smile that immediately puts you at ease.

Her time management skills are remarkable—somehow, she finds the time to manage the property, support the staff, and still personally check in with residents and families. She helped me so much during my mom’s stay—especially when it came to organizing all the medical appointments that had been ordered after my mother’s hospitalization. I didn’t have to worry about a thing; Olivia made sure everything was handled seamlessly, and I am truly grateful for that.

In today’s fast-paced, often impersonal world, it’s incredibly rare to meet someone as dedicated, warm-hearted, and sincerely invested in the wellbeing of others as Olivia. She puts the residents first, always leads with compassion, and does her job with a truly open heart.

Citadel of Glenview is both a rehabilitation and hospice facility, and my family chose it for my mom’s recovery after hip surgery. The facility offers on-site dialysis, physical therapy, and medical care, which made coordinating her treatment much easier. Every nurse and therapist I interacted with was kind, patient, and respectful, treating residents with genuine compassion and dignity. While no place is perfect, what stood out most was how the staff and administrators truly listened and took action whenever I raised a concern.

Since I live in California, it was stressful not being able to visit often, but I always felt reassured knowing my mom was well cared for. Once I obtained medical power of attorney (through their help), I began receiving regular updates from the nurses, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. The facility also had many Korean-speaking staff, which helped my mom — who does not speak English — feel comfortable and at ease throughout her stay.

The person who truly made the biggest difference was Vanessa Lee. She went above and beyond in every way and was truly the heart of my mom’s care experience. Vanessa personally helped me obtain medical power of attorney, ensuring I could advocate for my mom from California. She was always available by phone or text, even during weekends or off hours, and handled everything with warmth, professionalism, and care. She also coordinated with Humana, arranged in-home nursing and physical therapy, and even helped us find a new dialysis center after my mom’s discharge.

Because Vanessa speaks Korean and deeply understands Korean culture, she was able to communicate clearly with my dad and ensure my mom’s needs were fully understood. That cultural connection made my mom feel safe, respected, and understood, which meant so much to our family.

It was also clear that Vanessa was part of a strong and collaborative team. I met Prince Anamoo (Director of Nursing) and Karen (Physical Therapist), and it was evident that everyone — from administration to therapy to nursing — worked together to ensure my mom received the best care possible. Their teamwork, communication, and professionalism were outstanding.

Overall, our experience at Citadel of Glenview was very positive. While my mom was there for short-term rehabilitation, I would imagine that long-term care would reflect the same level of compassion, teamwork, and professionalism. If my family ever needed care again, Citadel of Glenview would absolutely be one of the first places I would consider.
