I been here for over a year and the staff here is wonderful. CNA Noel, Rose, Mahawa, Claudia, Nurse Augustina, Kim SW and Jennifer to name a few.  It's a lot of really good people here.  The cleaning has gotten way better but in general its good here.

This nursing home is an absolute disgrace, and I would never recommend it to anyone — not even for temporary care. My father is paralyzed, nonverbal, and on a feeding tube, completely dependent on the staff for every single need. And still, somehow, they find a way to neglect him on a daily basis.

He can’t move, speak, or eat on his own. He relies 100% on others — and this facility has failed him in the most basic, human ways. We’ve walked in multiple times to find him sitting in his own waste, left in dirty clothes for hours. His feeding tube care is inconsistent and careless. We’ve seen it left improperly positioned, and there have been times when he wasn’t even given nutrition on schedule — which is literally life-threatening.

He can’t ask for help. He can’t call out. So unless someone is checking on him regularly — which they’re supposed to do — he’s left completely helpless. We’ve had to step in ourselves to make sure he’s turned, cleaned, or even acknowledged. The staff often lingers at the desk, chatting and laughing, while call lights go unanswered and patients like my dad sit alone in silence, uncared for.

When we raise concerns with management, they either deny the issue, downplay it, or offer an empty apology and do absolutely nothing. There’s no urgency, no compassion, and zero accountability. If we didn’t show up regularly, I truly believe he would be completely forgotten. We are in the process of getting him moved, but it should not take constant family pressure just to get basic needs met. This facility has no business caring for vulnerable people — especially those who can’t speak for themselves. It’s disgusting, heartbreaking, and unacceptable. If you love your family, do not bring them here. They will not be safe. They will not be treated with dignity. And if they can’t speak or move on their own, they will suffer in silence. This place needs to be investigated immediately.

Qualify of care is poor, some  personal are not sensitive to the needs of the patients(asked staff member to get water up in bathroom so it would not be a fall hazard, he responded “ not my job”, coordination of medical appointments not adequate even after reminder by family, 4 Drs appointments missed due to failure to coordinate transportation or wrong time. Facility needs improvement, bed tray broken and were not replaced during 25 days at facility,  leaks in the bathroom and cleanliness  is an issue.  Spoke to the  Director but have not received any response from her.

One of the Worst Healthcare Facilities I’ve Ever Dealt With

I truly wish I could give this facility zero stars. Our experience here has been beyond disappointing, distressing, and deeply frustrating. This place is supposed to provide care and comfort for patients who are often at their most vulnerable, but what we encountered was the complete opposite — a severe lack of professionalism, compassion, communication, and basic human decency.

Neglect and Poor Patient Care:
First and foremost, there is an overwhelming sense of neglect when it comes to patient care. It’s heartbreaking to see how patients are often left unattended for long periods. There seems to be little to no monitoring of their needs. Medications are not always administered on time, and essential routines like hygiene, feeding assistance, or checking vital signs are often skipped or delayed. The patients are clearly not getting the attention or care they need and deserve.

Lack of Communication with Families:
One of the most unacceptable issues we’ve faced is the total lack of communication with family members. Phone calls are rarely answered, and when they are, we are either placed on endless hold or spoken to rudely, with little to no information provided. It feels like pulling teeth just to get a simple update on our loved one’s condition. Messages go unreturned, questions are dismissed, and when we try to raise concerns, we’re often met with a defensive or even hostile attitude.

Unprofessional and Uncaring Staff:
The nurses and some of the staff members have the absolute worst attitudes I’ve ever encountered in a healthcare setting. There is no empathy, no kindness, and certainly no effort made to make family members feel reassured or heard. They act inconvenienced by basic questions and are visibly annoyed when asked for help or clarification. At times, it seems like they forget they’re dealing with human lives, not just tasks on a checklist.

Hygiene and Cleanliness Are Shocking:
The facility itself is in very poor condition. The rooms are not cleaned regularly, and there is often a foul odor lingering in the hallways and patient rooms. Trash cans are sometimes overflowing, and basic sanitation seems to be a low priority. Patients are left in soiled clothing or bedding for extended periods. It’s not only uncomfortable for the patients but also a major health risk.

Unbearable Room Conditions:
Another huge issue is the temperature control within the rooms. Many times, the rooms are unbearably hot, making it hard for patients to rest or sleep comfortably. Despite repeated complaints, no action is taken to fix the issue. It’s unacceptable, especially for elderly or medically fragile patients who are highly sensitive to temperature extremes.

Families Forced to Provide Basic Supplies:
It is shocking that family members are often required to bring in basic essentials — things that should absolutely be provided by the facility, like toiletries, wipes, even clothing or proper bedding. For a facility that claims to provide comprehensive care, it is completely unreasonable and unacceptable to expect families to fill in the gaps for such fundamental needs.

Failure to Provide Promised Care Level:
We came here looking for a place that would provide professional, compassionate, and attentive care — a place where we could feel our loved one would be safe and treated with dignity. Sadly, this facility has failed on all fronts. They do not meet the most basic standards of care. The lack of accountability and the ongoing neglect make it clear that there is no system in place for quality control or patient advocacy.

Final Thoughts:
This facility needs a full investigation and immediate reform. Patients deserve better. Families deserve better. Healthcare should never come at the cost of dignity, safety, or peace of mind. I strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere. If you truly care about your loved one, this is not the place for them. No family should have to go through what we’ve experienced here.

My brother was a patient here for a short time and passed away in this facility.  I was asked by business/financial office to pre pay his stay as medicaid and Social security would be delayed.  I paid by my credit card.  He passed on March 4th. 2024.  I received a statement dated 04/01/2025 with a credit of $1,345.95 and was uncertain as to what this was about.  It stated I had the option of paying by Credit Card, ACH, or Check.  I called the facility around mid May and was told that they had no staff in financial office working for a while and to call back. The person I spoke to said that was false and corporate was sending people to help.  Obviously a problem.  I recently received another statement on June 16th. 2025 dated July 1st. 2025 for the same thing.  I called on June 19th. 2025. (day before I tried but the office was closed)  I spoke with  financial finance office and was asking about this statement.  I gave the account number and was told no account existed and what was the name of my brother.  She confirmed it was a refund  and wanted me to fill out an affidavit online. I said I don't do that and to send it to me.  Conversation was heated and I was lied to.  I asked her why the statement date was July 1st. when it is only June.  She said they send them out monthly a week in advance.  This last one was 2 weeks in advance and the only other statement was April 1st. with a postmark of March 20th.  Very poor, and in my opinion terrible customer service by finance office.  Not a good way to do business.  I'm not happy that it took over a year to be informed of a credit.  I was also not happy with care here....... don't get me started on that issue.  It took a while for Hospice to get straight so he had care.  He died shortly after being at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center.
Beware of placing a loved one here.
