My father was at View Ridge as a Patient recently and reading through these prior reviews, i can not say i agree with their sentiment regarding care, responsiveness and communication. I was at this facility daily and observed many things. 1.The staff work hard at attempting to meet your loved ones needs and respond timely, i looked up the staffing guidelines for facilities before sending my Dad here and they actually staff above the average. 2.The staff were all very helpful in answering questions, being available, provided us guidance and support for discharge planning and the director of nursing i met a few times and she actually came in helped answer my Dads call light and provided him care and was very compassionate and easy to talk to. 3.The therapy team were fantastic and helped motivate and push my Dad to meet his goals. 4.The food was pretty good too, which i think would be difficult to please so many different pallets and preferences. 5.They helped us follow up on needed appointments and the provider was easily accessible. 6.The administrator was present and you could tell he knew what was going on in his building. 7.It was clean and decorated for the Holidays and inviting. I always was greeted warmly when coming in. 8.I would like to share more wonderful things, but i think i have made enough valid points. I would like to end my review by pointing out that in the business of dealing with people, and people who are struggling with many different situations that can affect our biased opinions I think if you go in with the expectations that everything will be perfect and work out like you want it to, you will be gravely disappointed, simply because that is life and life is messy sometimes and its not always going to go the way we want it to and you have to keep an open mind.

My mom has lived at View Ridge since 2022. This place is the best nursing home we could find for her.  The staff is generally attentive though you may have to be on top of things like making sure the nebulizer is clean, the oxygen tank is full, etc. But the array of activities is nice, the food is good, and the layout is very good.  My mom was at Kirkland LifeCare before this, but they completely dropped the ball during COVID, and so many of their patients died. We got my mom out of there 15 minutes before they completely locked the place down.  View Ridge is worlds better than that.

I had a mostly good experience at View Ridge Care Center. I did see a problem with the aids saying that they’ll take care of telling the right person things like I wanted to take a shower, I needed pain medicine, or other things and when they didn’t happen, I would ask again and they still wouldn’t happen, but most of the time, it was good. I came out of there feeling good and got all of the education and tools that I needed to heal properly. Kudos go out to the physical therapist named Scott and the occupational therapist, I can’t remember his name, but he’s an Asian man. Those two stood out to me as being the best they have. There was anAsian man, who I think was an aid but he was spectacular. I believe he was my aid the night before I left. I really appreciate it the activities guy. He was fun to be around, had lots of smiles and laughs and put together an I really appreciate it the activities guy. My father has dementia and he is in hospice and we chose view ridge solely because of location. First day, it seemed like people working there was on top of everything. It went downhill from there. He cannot speak or move so I have to speak for him. I have asked numerous times for them to feed him water and some protein shake every couple hours as he isn’t able to chew or swallow solid foods. We go by there every day for a few hours and we noticed that he is dehydrated. So that tells me that he isn’t getting enough. It’s up to us to do their job I suppose. Just today (11-11-2025) at 4 pm, an employee, she never gave her name or position, comes in his room and starts giving my father more medication. My mom stops her and says that someone else came in 2 hours prior and had already gave him some. I asked her how often does he need to take it. Her response was every 6 hours. So I asked her to wait a couple hours and she walked out with an attitude. A day before, I had waited 3 days because of the weekend to speak to the director of nursing to let her know my concerns. I walk in early on Monday thinking she would be available. I was told she’s in a meeting till 10. So I waited. Now it’s 2:30. She still wasn’t available. So I wait at her office. She walks up. I mentioned to her that I waited 3 days just to talk with her for a few minutes to bring up some concerns. She reacted with her hands in the air and says “what is it?!” I walked away because I do not want to escalate this.
If you want bare minimum, choose this place for your loved ones. If you want actual care, go somewhere else

View Ridge is the wrong place for your loved ones.

Our experience was good UNTIL we actually arrived with my cousin for care in September 2025.  Prior to arriving we communicated his special needs from managing his diabetes, his dietary needs and his recovery included to continue physical therapy.  The challenges were easy for them to accept, but they were unable to meet them.

My cousin was not pushed during physical therapy and therefore got very weak from lack of movements and staying in bed all the time.

The staffing is ALWAYS shorthanded.  My cousin would go for hours without a checking.  The nurse station buzzer rarely ever was answered fast, sometimes an hour before they would come by.  He was not taken to the rest room frequently enough so he soiled his Depends daily and soon after arriving developed a rash on his penis from not getting cleaned often enough.

Mealtimes varied on the schedule, sometimes over an hour and a half late.  We explained he needed high protein Ensure 11 ounce (30mg protein) with each meal, sometimes they would bring a small 4 ounce (6mg protein).  I asked repeatedly that View Ridge kitchen staff give him at least 2 protein drinks with each meal until the dietician got his Ensure in stock (you would think they have them in stock at all times, but don't).  They continued to bring only one small drink with each meal.  We eventually had to bring Ensure so he would get them each day.  His blood sugars were not checked on a regular schedule, therefore his meds were either early or late.

My cousin is not large, under 140 lbs then.  We explained his need for movements, including physical therapy, and he should be taken to the Dining Room for each meal, but 90% of the time he was left in bed almost all day.  This was true for almost all his meals and he rarely got a real bathroom break.... multiple request on this was made to the staff and we wrote it on his whiteboard in his room.

I sent the Director of Nursing an email asking for a few corrections, -ZERO response.

One time I went to my cousin's room and he wasn't there. I walked down the hall, and a male nurse told me my cousin was in his room.  I responded that his bed is freshly made and is empty.  Then the nurse said my cousin is not in the TV room or Dining area.  I returned to his room and found him falling out of his wheelchair in his bathroom.  My cousin said they wouldn't come after he hit the buzzer over 10 times and so he tried to go on his own.

Lastly, were the dangers.... My cousin fell onto the floor because of lack of care. (we had to have him taken to the hospital where he remained for almost 4 weeks) .

One day, I was walking in the hallway and another patient in a wheelchair said her roommate needed help for the bathroom and she did not have Depends on and no one would answer the buzzer.  She asked me to get someone for her.

They are unable to keep up with the patient needs and should be closed and re-staffed.
