I went in last night around 4 am with bad right upper quadrant pain. The nurse was ok it was her time to go home I understand but what hurt the most was I felt like they judged me based on my pain management I take for a spine condition I have and only based my pain off of opiod use and thought I was an apiod addict and only wanted pain medicine. I genuinely have good experiences here but I was in actual pain and was told to follow up and get a hidascan for my gallbladder they did an ultrasound and didnt even offer to look further into it . I understand they have patients with more serious emergencies and I get it can get busy .

But I felt like I was judged based on my Prescribed meds I take rather than the initial issue itself. This hospital is known to not have a lot of experience with certain things and have to send patients to certain hospitals to get the proper care as they don't specialize in some things . I have kidney issues and was sent to logan regional a few times as I have had infections .

But I don't recommend coming here if you have symptoms that have been going on for a while or they will just tell you to follow up with your provider.

As for my discharge I told them I had already had my gallbladder hidascan last summer and it showed it was 99% working just fine . And the packet they gave me the first two pages were resources for opioid addiction and I felt hurt because I have genuine pain I can't function without some relief I'm not addicted I also mentioned in ake muscle relaxers for bed and I had to let them know as it was almost 5 am when I arrived with my emergency.

Point is I felt like they thought I only wanted pain medicine instead of actually showing genuine concern.

My mom's cousin was in a motorcycle cycle wreck. He hit the handle of his bike and they sent him home. He got home took a shower got out and dropped dead from internal bleeding. They didn't run any tests to check for internal bleeding. They said he was fine and sent him home.

I am absolutely disappointed in the Tuesday Nov 4th late night emergency room especially the jerk of a doctor Johnathan Ricks and the male nurse in the grey scrubs, the nurses in blue scrubs were great, but I brought my adult daughter in because she was shaking uncontrollably with diarrhea and vomiting and first off as we walked past thr counter to the room they were joking and laughing in conversation that probably should be held for tge employee breakroom, they put us in a room and didn't come in until their conversation was over still heard laughing through the door, then I finally had to ask for a warm blanket because my daughter was freezing and they went to get one but was like oh we need a take her temperature we'll then do it and put the blanket on her then the nurse in the grey scrubs went to put an iv in and my daughter was obviously dehydrated and cold but he just grabs her arm puts the tie on and just sticks the needle in and starts fishing around all while the doctor is trying to talk to her and wouldn't stop asking her about bladder stuff with every answer being no that wasn't the problem so after 5 no's he stopped and he talks to his patients like they are 12, then she had a reaction to on of the meds they administered and after I asked if she was having a reaction he finally comes joking and laughing about winning the lottery in being 2% of patients who have a side effect reaction to the nausea med all he said her blood work was fine when looking on my chart a few days later revealed several abnormal results including a high glucose level. I now know why you put him on the midnight shift because he is an absolute terrible doctor and unprofessional.

DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. EVER. HIPPA VIOLATED, unprofessional. I came in for a drug screen.  Rachel in work med treated me like a 'druggy' after I couldn't give more than a little of urine.  The second time I had a little more sample, keeping the small amount of urine on the cup temp reading knowing that's important.  She looked at the temp, didn't believe it, took the temp with a cold thermometer on the desk and had me throw the urine away! I tried 1 more time. I had also told her I had exercised that morning, so may be dehydrated. She restricted my water amount since 'THEY' didn't want me to have too much water for a drug screen. I walked around, drinking more water from the cafeteria,  knowing that when your mouth is dry,  you need more water. First of all,  DARK yellow urine means someone is dehydrated.  Secondly, DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS BASED ON PERSONAL BIAS. The other girl at the desk, very rude, not friendly at all from the beginning. I didn't see a name badge so I don't know her name, she's tiny and petite with long hair.  She acted like I was ruining her day. Rachel had told me not to leave the hospital after the third attempt, but to come back to the desk after 20 minutes to try again. When I came back she was with another patient. It was my turn, she took me to the back to tell me she had closed the test out informing my company I had refused the test since I had 'left the area'. She didn't say that to me before. She did say that she will send a message to my company that I HAD REFUSED THE TEST.  I told her I wouldn't sign anything because I didn't refuse.  There was a grumpy looking bald headed man in the back,  LISTENING to everything.  Rachel changed her story
I'm guessing the man told her what to say. My HIPPA rights have been violated.  He was listening to everything! LASTLY,  I  have been an RN for nearly 40 years. I do NOT, NEVER WILL, take drugs. I have never failed a drug screen. EVER. STAY AWAY from Bear River Hospital unless you want to be treated like a criminal.
SHAME ON YOU INTERMOUNTAIN! You took the CARE out of health.  And it shows.

Everyone is nice, but the system is a mess. I've been trying to get appointments for ordered tests for nearly a month. I've been told several times that someone will call me back to schedule. If I call, they transfer me, and I just wait on hold for 30-60 minutes before giving up. I'm convinced there isn't even a phone hooked up for that department. I can never find direct numbers on the website for the right department. The new app is useless for sending messages.

UPDATE: I had to downgrade this rating. I have been nagged with the same three bills for nearly five months. Every time I call, it's a different excuse. First, they billed the wrong insurance company, then they lost the authorization number, then my insurance information disappeared, then they put the wrong insurance company AGAIN. Three times, I have called with the insurance company, and every time it turns out Intermountain Health never even billed them.
