It has been 6 months since my father passed away in this hospital. He wasnt exactly healthy but he still had some time. CNP Renae Ann Lapham was ruthless and should get her license revoked. I already shared this with Allina, however,  they of course did what one would expect and completely dismissed what I saw. They overdosed my father. Go to a different hospital,  trust me. 💜

My husband unfortunately had to stop here on the way home, when i finally got there I came into his room there were used gloves gauze and wrappers all over the room he was in....nurse really didn't talk more like mumbled....keep driving go to a different hospital if you can this one's dirty and what is thay bed side manner

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. My dad was brought there a few times over the last month, the first time for a GI bleed, the next 3 times staff in the ER sent him home and said "he's fine". They were incredibly rude and short with us and I'm pretty sure they thought I was lying when I said dad needed 1:1 care while there. They're response to that was "does he get 1:1 care at home? I said no but at home he doesn't have an IV in, has his walker and is familiar with home. After sending him to Albert Lea ER, we found out he's in congestive heart failure and one of the valves in his heart is almost fully closed. Shame on Owatonna ER staff for not checking into Dad's shortness of breath a month ago when I brought it up the first time. I will NEVER go to Owatonna ER again.

I had to go here after being sent to the ER for mental reasons. Best help I’ve gotten since starting my road to recovery for mental health.

In 2022, I was placed on an involuntary 72 hour hold by another hospital. It was extremely unwarranted and I was threatened with physical violence and had my human rights violated. That hospital sent me to the inpatient facility at Owatonna. Based on the experience at Buffalo, I was extremely standoffish. I was hysterical. I told them I would not speak with them, I would not let them touch me, I wanted to call my family because buffalo would not let me contact my family and they actually trespassed my entire family from their hospital for literally no reason after my family convinced me to just stay and do what they asked. The nurse was taken aback and asked what happened and I explained and she basically said “oh my god, I’m so sorry. We won’t do that here. We’re going to help you.” And something in her voice made me believe her. I think it took a day and a half maybe to talk to the psychiatrist, but he’s the reason I’m writing this review. He released me before the 72 hour hold was up and said he didn’t believe I needed to be there. He joked with me. I even made jokes that other psychs might’ve held me longer for making and when I ended with a “whoops, shouldn’t have let that one slip” he laughed with me and said no, it shows me you have a healthy coping mechanism. He really just talked to me like a human being and that’s not something I’ve dealt with in my 15 years of experience being treated for mental health conditions. He also went out of his way to call my primary care doctor and tell her he thought she was doing a great job with the medication aspect of my treatment, and when I saw her again she was really surprised he did that and said it was really nice. I don’t remember his name, but I wanted to write this review just to give him a little recognition because he deserves it. I’ve met with probably 10-12 psychiatrists in my life and he was by far the kindest, smartest, most human psychiatrist I’ve met.
